Malcolm Hebden (born 21st December, 1939 in Burnley) is a British actor most famous for his role on Coronation Street as nosey newsagent Norris Cole, a part he played intermittently between 1994 and 1997, before coming back to the programme as a permanent character in 1999, where he remains to this day. Malcolm also appeared on the Street from 1974 to 1975 as Spaniard Carlos, a love interest of Mavis Riley. Between these two roles he also appeared in the Street spin-off The Brothers McGregor.
In December 2017, Malcolm suffered a silent heart attack and was put into an induced coma for three weeks, and he received life saving surgery on his heart. It was reported in January the following month that he was taking a break from the show for personal reasons, although the exact details weren't revealed until July that year.
His other credits include Juliet Bravo, A Bit of a Do and Last of the Summer Wine.
