Margi Clarke was born on 25th May 1954 in Liverpool. She is an English actress who played Jackie Dobbs in Coronation Street from March 1998 to March 1999, then with return appearances in August 2008, January 2009 and February to March 2010.

Margi first came to attention with a starring role in her first film appearance in 1985's Letter to Brezhnev and later was a regular in TV's Making Out as Queenie.

Margi initially appeared in Coronation Street from March to April 1998 as Deirdre Rachid's cellmate Jackie Dobbs, and later returned in November that year as a regular cast member. However she was dropped from the show due to personal issues, and departed in March 1999.

After sorting herself out, Margi was asked to re-audition for the role in 2008 when producers intended to bring Jackie back to the show, and after successfully passing she was brought back on a two-month contract, with her scenes airing in August 2008 and then January 2009. She reprised the role for a final time from February to March 2010.

Other credits include roles in Brookside (credited as "Margi MacGregor", with her brother Frank Clarke penning episodes for the programme during the 1980s), Soul Survivors, Casualty, 24 Hour Party People, Hollyoaks: In the City, Benidorm and Waterloo Road.
