Max Rubin appeared on Coronation Street in September 2002 as Paul Katowski, an art tutor at Granston Technical College, whose classes were attended by Toyah Battersby.

This appears to be his only on-screen credit, but he stayed within the business as Head of the Acting Foundation course at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts for two years. In that time LIPA had huge success with students gaining entry to Bristol Old Vic, Drama Centre, Mountview, Guildhall, Central and RSAMD.

He founded Lodestar Theatre Company to devote himself to training young actors and set up an annual Shakespeare festival in Liverpool, putting on site-specific productions including Come and have a go if you think you're bard enough.

In September 2014 he joined the team of IAB (Insitute of the Arts Barcelona) - performing arts professionals responsible for bringing a UK validated BA (Hons) degree education to Spain.
