Michael Barrington (born 3rd July 1924 in Twickenham, died 5th June 1988 in Paddington, London) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1963 as show producer Edgar Nuttall, a surprise guest on Annie Walker's specially-staged This Is Your Life.

His plans to become a veterinary surgeon fell by the wayside due to the onset of World War II, which led to him working in a munitions factory and serving in the Royal Engineers. He then decided to pursue an acting career and trained at the Birmingham School of Drama.

His other credits include The Adventures of Robin Hood, Skyport, Bootsie and Snudge, Maigret, The Avengers, Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, The Wednesday Play, Department S, Freewheelers , Doctor Who, The New Avengers, Private Schulz and Porridge, in which he played the hapless Governor Venables.

Film roles include The Hellfire Club, Up The Junction, The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer, Follow Me and The Black Panther.

On stage, he appeared in productions including The Breadwinner, The Waltz of the Toreadors, I Killed the Count, Running Wild, Irma la Douce, Portrait of a Queen, Mourning Becomes Electra, Conduct Unbecoming, What the Butler Saw and Coriolanus.
