Michelle Keegan was born 3rd June, 1987 in Woodley, Stockport. The daughter of a policeman and a schools' facilities manager, completed an A-level drama course with ambitions to become an actress. While working in jobs including a member of check-in staff at Manchester Airport, she took acting lessons in the evening and signed up to an agent in October 2007. She gained the role of Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street with only her second-ever audition, the first being for Hollyoaks. She made her screen debut on the programme in January 2008.
