Mr Leadbetter was a quality representative from a chocolate company who called into The Kabin after a spate of complaints about the sales of their product in the area from various people. In reality, they had all been made by Albert Tatlock under various names who had cottoned on to the fact that if you made a complaint you were sent free samples of the chocolates as compensation. Mr Leadbetter asked to see the stockroom to see if he could make any suggestions about improving storage conditions. From past conversations, Rita Littlewood immediately guessed who was behind the complaints and tracked Albert down to the Rovers where she tore a strip off him.
