Mr Sanderson was a solicitor who represented the case against Jerry Booth when he appeared in the Magistrates' Court on a charge of assaulting Jim Stoker. In this instance, Jerry was found guilty and given a conditional discharge for twelve months. In between the gaps in proceedings, Sanderson and his opposing number, Frank Cotsen, were on the best of terms and chatted about mutual friends while an aghast Jerry watched on.
