Mrs Lambert was the owner of a detached house in Handforth that Len and Rita Fairclough looked over in March 1980 when Rita wanted to move away from Weatherfield to better things.

With her husband Tim and their daughter Emma, Mrs Lambert was moving to Singapore for two years because of Tim's work and were selling the house as a result. They’d been very happy in the area having lived there just over a year and Mrs Lambert regaled the Faircloughs with tales of the executive life in Cheshire, but Len wasn’t impressed. Nevetheless he made an offer but Rita refused to move, not wanting to make him unhappy.
