Neville Smith (born 1940 in Liverpool) appeared in two roles in Coronation Street: a Young Workman in May 1964 and a Van Driver who helped move Ena Sharples out of the Vestry in January 1968.

He was also due to appear as Tony in two further episodes of the programme (372 and 373) that were abandoned part-way through rehearsals due to the 1964 ITV Strike.

He also appeared in The Odd Man, The Plane Makers, Doctor Who, Emergency-Ward 10, Softly, Softly, eight separate productions of The Wednesday Play, Z Cars, Play for Today and The Comic Strip Presents.... Film roles include Billy Liar and Gumshoe.

In the late 1960s he turned his hand to writing and with the assistance of ITN newscaster Gordon Honeycombe, wrote his first television play. The Golden Vision. Further plays include editions of The Wednesday Play, ITV Sunday Night Theatre, Gumshoe, Play for Today and The World Cup: A Captain's Tale, some of which he also acted in.
