Nora Gordon (29th November 1893 - 11th May 1970) played Elsie Lappin in the dry run of Episode 1 of Coronation Street, recorded on 18th November 1960. In the televised version, the role was played by Maudie Edwards.
Her first roles were often uncredited roles in the 1940s in the wartime British film industry. Television roles followed in the 1950s with parts in series such as BBC Sunday-Night Theatre, ITV Television Playhouse, Colonel March of Scotland Yard, Armchair Theatre, Dixon of Dock Green, No Hiding Place, The Marriage Lines, Softly, Softly and Z Cars. Her final role before her death was in a 1970 episode of the thriller series Paul Temple.
