The unnamed Old Man was a customer in Jim's Cafe who ordered sausage and egg and then complained that there were no beans. A harassed Elsie Tanner pointed out that beans were extra but the man said that as he had seen then on someone else's plate, he thought they were included and felt his rights were being infringed. The argument only ended when a Driver at the same table interrupted to complain at the slow service he was encountering.
