PC Miller was one of two officers summoned to assist, and subsequently hinder, Tim Metcalfe in November 2018.

Tim's sister-in-law, Gina Seddon, had reluctantly gone on a date with Dave, a man she had met online which proved to be a disastrous encounter when she realised all he wanted was sex. She ran off from him and mistook the chase he subsequently gave to return her dropped keys for something more sinister. She rang Tim as he was drinking in the Rovers and he came to his rescue in his Street Cars cab, calling the police in the process. When all the parties arrived, Gina explained the error but PC Miller smelled the contents of a pint and a half on Tim's breath. He breathalysed him and, as the initial test in the police car proved positive, he and his colleague took Tim to Weatherfield Police Station for the mandatory second test which also proved positive.

Tim was on edge as his wife Sally Metcalfe was on trial the next day at Weatherfield Magistrates Court on charges of fraud, bribery and money laundering and he took his temper out on Miller, commenting insultingly on the officer's youthful demeanour, and asking if he had a pair of shorts to go with his uniform. The custody officer lost his temper and ordered Tim to be put into cell 1 overnight, meaning he was not able to be at the opening of his wife's hearing.

In May 2019 PC Miller was one of several officers who searched for a missing Carla Connor. She was suffering from psychosis with her mental health impaired after the collapse of the Underworld roof two months earlier, an episode for which she took on the brunt of the guilt not realising that she hadn't been negligent as she thought, but that the roof had been sabotaged by a financially-strapped Gary Windass who was desperate for the work of "repairing" it. With no one knowing the true cause, even close friends turned against her as Rana Habeeb had died during the collapse. Under intense pressure, she disappeared spending time at a squat and the Riverlands Hotel. Robert Preston saw her there by chance and brought her back to her cafe flat home in Victoria Street where she once more gave her friends and family the slip. A search was made and the police alerted. The next day PC Miller called at the Rovers to tell her father Johnny that all officer had been alerted to look our for her and he begged that if they found her they treated her gently. Jenny Connor and Robert had doubts about how sympathetic or useful the police would be and Miller had to sit silently and listen to their negative views.

In February 2021, Miller was the officer who arrested Ray Crosby when he was wanted on a charge of bribery. After months of illegal, dubious and unethical practices to gain permission to knock down half of Coronation Street, Abi Franklin produced video evidence of Susan, the head of the council's planning committee, discussing her bribe with Ray and demanding £20,000 more. The footage was distributed, and Susan arrested with a warrant put out for Ray. He went into hiding but when he broke cover, the police were able to apprehend him.
