Pam Hargreaves is the mother of Christine Hargreaves and Luke Ashton, she is also the biological mother of Charlie Johnson however she gave Charlie up for adoption at birth, after falling pregnant with her at a young age.
In 2001, Charlie began working at the Weatherfield Comprehensive, which happened to be the same school that her half-brother Luke was attending. Eventually discovering the link between herself and Luke, Charlie tracked Pam down but was rejected as Pam didn't want her to ruin the new family she'd created. Dealing with the rejection from her birth mother, Charlie left but began being stalked by Luke who waged war upon her after discovering their connection. Charlie was devastated when Pam told her that she should resign from the school in order to stop the tension with Luke.
