Patrick Durkin (9th June, 1936 - 1st September, 2009) appeared on Coronation Street as Joe Williams in August 1978.
Having trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he was the former straight man to comedian Tommy Cooper. His other credits include The Life and Death of Sir John Falstaff, Dr. Finley's Casebook, No Hiding Place, The Saint, For the Love of Ada, Budgie, The Liver Birds, Love Thy Neighbour, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, The Sweeney, When the Boat Comes In, The Onedin Line, Hazell, Citizen Smith, You're Only Young Twice, The Bill and Dempsey and Makepeace along with numerous Carry on films and the blockbuster 1981 movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.
