He also appeared in 1985 in the Cyril's Marital Status episode of the Street spin-off The Brothers McGregor as Sergeant Dangerfield.

Angelis was a merchant banker for six years before taking up acting and trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. After appearing in series such as The Fellows and The Wednesday Play, he played the regular role of PC Bannerman in Z Cars for eighteen months from July 1968 onwards. Further television roles followed in series such as The Liver Birds, Callan, The Sweeney, Softly Softly: Task Force, The Gentle Touch, Juliet Bravo, Father's Day, Bergerac, Casualty and The Bill.

On the big screen, he voiced Ringo Starr in 1968's Yellow Submarine and played Mike Rawlins, Alf Garnett's son-in-law in 1972's The Alf Garnett Saga, a role usually played by Anthony Booth.
