Paul Clayton is the son of Terry Duckworth and Andrea Clayton - whom none of the Duckworths had met until Andrea turned up on the Duckworths doorstep one November night in 2000 and explained that he was dying unless he could have a kidney transplant.

Always one with an eye for the main chance, Terry 'volunteered' to be a living donor, took a £25,000 payment from his father and then promptly scarpered. It took Vera Duckworth to stand in and save the dying child by donating one of her kidneys to save his life, even though an allergic reaction nearly took hers. As well as appearing in 2000, Paul also made appearances in 2001, 2007 and 2008.
