Paul James Connor was the older brother of Liam and Michelle Connor and the late husband of Carla Connor. He was the owner of Underworld from 2006 until his death in mid-2007 in a car crash.

Biography

Paul was born in 1969 to Barry and Helen Connor and had two siblings follow Liam and Michelle. In 1999 he had married Carla Donovan. However unknown to Carla, Paul had began visiting prostitutes behind her back, a fact that would not be revealed many years later.
In 2006, Paul was called up by his brother Liam concerning buying shares from the Coronation Street knicker factory Underworld from Adam Barlow. They brothers settle buying 40% of Adam's shares of the factory for £80,000 pounds. He spends his wife Carla's funds from her children's clothing business to buy the shares.
Paul helped to cover up the death of a polish factory worker, claiming she had died on a day shift when she was actually illegally working during the night.
While hiring a prostitute and meeting her at a hotel, he is shocked to discover it is Leanne Battersby, his brother's girlfriend. They both agree to keep each other's secrets, but Paul is frustrated seeing Leanne and Liam growing closer together, and tries to break them up by trying to make Liam think Leanne is a gold digger, which he ignores. He is uncomfortable when Leanne goes into business with Carla, and her identity as a prostitute is revealed. Carla is angry to discover that Paul was her client and ends the marriage. Blaming Leanne, he locks her in the boot of his car and plans to reveal her secret to Liam. But while distracted, he gets hit by a lorry and crashes the car. Leanne survives, but Paul ends up in a coma and later dies in the hospital.

- Paul was introduced as part of a new family brought in Coronation Street, as the brother of character Michelle Connor, who had made a guest appearance three months prior. Paul was a new character brought in with Liam, and nephew Ryan Connor.
- Actor Sean Gallagher quit the role of Paul in less than a year in fear of being typecast. The character made his last appearance in June 2007, almost a year since first arriving.
Other InformationEdit
When Liam's wife Maria gave birth to a stillborn baby boy in 2008, they had named him Paul in memory of Liam's late brother.
