Paul Shane

Paul Shane
(born in Rotherham, Yorkshire on 19th June, 1940, died in Rotherham on 16th May, 2013) is a British actor and comedian best known for his role as holiday camp entertainer Ted Bovis in BAFTA-winning 1980s situation comedy Hi-De-Hi!.

On Coronation Street he played DJ Dave-the-Rave in 1977, then Frank Roper in 1979.

Paul's other TV credits include four series as devious butler Alf Stokes in You Rang, M'Lord? (1988-1993), two series as cuckolded railway porter Jack Skinner in Oh, Doctor Beeching! (1995-1997) and his own sitcom Very Big, Very Soon (1991). He has also made guest appearances in A Touch of Frost, Doctors, Holby City and Emmerdale.
