Peter Rylands appeared on Coronation Street in five roles:
- An unnamed Policeman who was on scene following Alan Bradley's assault on Rita Fairclough in March 1989
- Estate agent Mr Walmersley who showed Martin and Gail Platt around 8 Coronation Street in December 1991
- Businessman Neil, who was a "client" of Leanne Battersby in March 2007
- Solicitor Mr Drummond who read out the details of Blanche Hunt's will in May 2010.
- A District Judge who sentenced Fiz Stape for not reporting an illegal firearm in January 2020.
His other credits include roles in Hannay, Children's Ward, Heartbeat, Prime Suspect 3, Bugs, The Bill, Peak Practice, The Royal, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, South Riding, Peaky Blinders and Love, Lies and Records, along with the 2001 film The Parole Officer.
On stage he has appeared in productions of David Copperfield, Who killed Agatha..., The Makropulos Case, Merlin, Wind in the Willows, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Rookery Nook, Dracula, Tom's Midnight Garden, The History Boys, Dial M for Murder, The Rivals and The Comedy of Errors.
