Peter Keith Wheeler (born 8th December 1934 in Hartlepool, died 18th May 2010 in Manchester) was heard on several occasions in Coronation Street as:
- A TV commentator in November 1974
- A disc jockey in May 1975
- A radio announcer for an accumulator set of horse races in July 1983
- A commentator on horse races in January 1995, June & November 2000 and September 2001.
As a voice artist, he worked extensively for Granada Television from the 1970s onwards, but is best remembered for his vocal role as the Court Reporter in the long-running daytime series Crown Court for twelve years from 1972 onwards, but he was also heard in Emmerdale Farm, The Wind in the Willows and Dramarama. Outside of acting roles, he was heard in many editions of What the Papers Say (along with Daphne Oxenford) although he appeared on-screen in Call My Bluff and The Villains.
