The Postman was eagerly awaited by Minnie Caldwell on her birthday but she had to wait while he called with a signed delivery letter at 3 Coronation Street only to be told by Frank Barlow he had the incorrect Barlow household and should be calling at No.9 instead. With twenty years' experience behind him at the Post Office, Frank also told the younger man to put his hat on straight as its unkempt angle wasn't liked by management but he was only given cheek in return.
As he sauntered off down Coronation Street, he told a disappointed Minnie that he had nothing for her and upset Lucille Hewitt when he slapped a letter on the windowsill of No.7 saying it was from her boyfriend. In return, she told Minnie that she hoped he'd get corns on his feet!
