Randolph Sutton (born Bristol July 1888, died Brixton 28th February 1969) appeared in Coronation Street in May and June 1966 as a Cabaret Artist at a nightclub attended by Jed Stone, Minnie Caldwell and Jerry Booth.
Mr Sutton was an accomplished comedian, Britain's Premier Light Comedian and stage entertainer in music hall and variety, having made his stage debut in 1913 in Blackpool. He made made records in the 1920s and 1930s, some them with risque lyrics for the time, and appeared in a Royal Variety Performance. He made his final stage appearance just two days before his death.
He made many appearances on radio where he was billed as "Britain's Premier Light Comedian", the first being in 1932, alongside such stars as George Formby, Gracie Fields and Max Miller. He continued to perform throughout the Second World War both on the Home Services and the Forces Network and made his television debut in 1951.
