The Registrar completed the official record of the birth of Simon Barlow when mother Lucy visited her by appointment in July 2003. Lucy was bitter at the swift end of her marriage to Peter Barlow and although she gave Peter's name as the father, she registered his birth name as "Simon John Richards" (her maiden name) although it was changed back to Barlow following Lucy's death five years later.
