Rex Boyd appeared in three roles in Coronation Street:
- In May 1961 as George, a weights and measures assistant who investigated the Corner Shop scales.
- The voice of a Radio Lecturer on a classical music programme that Ken Barlow and Dave Robbins listened to in January 1964.
- Constable Barnes who investigated supposed after-hours drinking in the Rovers in November 1964.
He also appeared in no less than three different roles in the second season of the spin-off Pardon the Expression. First, as a Waiter in The Take-over Bid followed one episode later as a Court Usher in Between the Covers and finally in The Switched-on Scene as a Police Inspector.
Most of his television credits were for Granada Television with shows such as The Odd Man, The Villains, The Man in Room 17, The Corridor People and The Fellows. On the big screen he appeared in Cup Fever and Charlie Bubbles.
