Rhys McConnochie (born "Maynard Rhys McConnochie" on 28th December 1936 in New Zealand) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in September 1965 as Det Constable Lucas; and he returned to the programme in November 1977 as Toni, the room service waiter at the hotel where Stan and Hilda Ogden enjoyed their second honeymoon.

His other UK credits include The Wars of the Roses and Doctor Who, after which point he immigrated to Australia and made appearances in The Last Bastion, Carson's Law, Bodyline, Anzacs, Australians, A Country Practice, Brotherhood of the Rose, Ring of Scorpio, Brides of Christ, MDA and Offspring.

He appeared in stage productions of The Long and the Short and the Tall, A Midsummer Night's Dream, 1066 and All That, Bingo, Saint Joan and several works as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

On the other side of the camera, Rhys taught drama at various Australian colleges and acadamies.
