Rod McCormick was a young customer in Jim's Cafe who tried his chances with Gail Tilsley with the atrocious chat-up line of "’Ere, Debbie Harry! Do you want to strut your stuff?” after putting a record on the juke box. Gail described him as a Fonz-wannabe and rebuffed his offer, saying she didn’t do cabaret. A more direct Elsie Tanner asked him aloud which planet he came from.
