Roderick McMillan (born 23rd March 1923 in Glasgow, died 9th July 1979 also in Glasgow) appeared on Coronation Street between January and February 1975 as the abusive Roy Johnson, who eventually confessed to murdering his wife Lynn.

His earliest theatre work began in the mid-1940s with the Glasgow Unity Theatre. Later that decade, he began acting with the Glasgow Citizen's Company before moving on to Edinburgh's Gateway Theatre in the mid-1950s.

His other television credits included roles in two adaptations of Redgauntlet along with The Herries Chronicle, Rob Roy, The Sword in the Web, Kidnapped, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, Witch Wood, Front Page Story, The Dark Number, The Revenue Men, Sunset Song, The View from Daniel Pike, The Haggard Falcon, Crown Court, John Macnab, Hazell and The Camerons but probably most famously, he appeared as crafty skipper Para Handy in the 1970s BBC Scotland sitcom The Vital Spark.

He died after suffering a heart attack, aged 56, shortly after completing filming on the second series of Hazell.
