Roger Tucker (born 13th May 1945 in Bristol) directed 25 episodes of Coronation Street from September 1971 to June 1972.
He directed his first film, Karst, at the age of 18 and it won the Senior Trophy at the 1965 British Film Institute's Young Film-makers' Competition. On the strength of this he was hired by Granada Television and left them in 1976 to become freelance. He married future Coronation Street producer Susi Hush in 1968.
His other credits include Cinema, Moody and Pegg, Crown Court, Sutherland's Law, Rooms, Gangsters, Shoestring, Fallen Hero, The Professionals, Bergerac, Bulman, Lovejoy, Dempsey and Makepeace, Moon and Son, The Bill and Hollyoaks. His feature film Waiting for Dublin won the Seahorse Award (Best Feature Film by male filmmakers) and the Audience Award at the Moondance International Film Festival.
