Roy Maxwell played five roles on Coronation Street: a Postman in 1963, Alf Whittam in 1966, a Taxi Driver in 1967, an RAC Man in February 1971 and P.C. 243 later in the same year. He also appeared in the first episode of the spin-off Pardon the Expression as the 1st Teller in the bank that Leonard Swindley visited.

His other credits include Hadleigh, Tom Grattan's War and Crown Court.
