Ruby Dobbs (previously Soames) is the daughter of Kirsty Soames and Tyrone Dobbs and was born on 9th September 2012 in the back room of the Rovers Return Inn. After Kirsty had provoked Tina McIntyre, an enraged Tina pushed Kirsty into a table, bruising her spine and causing her waters to break and go into labour. Marcus Dent helped with the birth, along with Stella and Gloria Price. Tyrone arrived just in time to witness his daughter's birth.
When Ruby was born, Tyrone was not listed as the baby's father. Eventually, Kirsty started going into a mental state, and lied that she was the one being abused. Tyrone was arrested and remanded in custody, and with Kirsty's growing insanity, neighbour Julie Carp was often drafted in to babysit Ruby. Tyrone's trial arrived, and upon a visit with her friend, Julie noticed that Kirsty had started to crack after taking the witness stand. When Julie demanded to know the real truth about the domestic violence, Kirsty smacked Julie in the face and caused her mouth to bleed. When Ruby started crying, Kirsty angrily yelled constantly for her to shut up, but Kirsty realised what she was doing and confessed to everything to the police.
Kirsty later admitted to abusing Tyrone and was arrested by police. Tyrone was released and got custody of Ruby. Fiz later moved into No.9 with Tyrone along with her daughter Hope.
