Sarah Thurstan appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: Betty Williams' daughter-in-law Caroline Clegg in October 1995 and June 2002 (the part had been played by Elaine Donnelly in 1982); and she returned to the programme as the District Judge at the custody hearing for the Websters' children in February 1999.

In 2000 she founded Lancaster business Performance Link Ltd, which specialises in bespoke communication and personal development programmes and workshops.

Her other credits include roles in The Gentle Touch, Prime Suspect, September Song, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Wycliffe, Casualty, Where the Heart Is, Silent Witness, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, EastEnders, Mrs Brown's Boys, Hollyoaks and the 2005 film Asylum.
