Actress and writer Sayan Kent appeared on Coronation Street in July 1997 as a Doctor who treated the pregnant Zoe Tattersall for high blood pressure. She made a return to the programme in sporadic appearances during 2001 as solicitor Gabrielle Smith, who represented Mike Baldwin as he contested custody of his son, Adam Barlow.
Having graduated in Community Theatre Arts at the Rose Bruford College (1986) and in M.Phil(b) Playwriting Studies at the University of Birmingham (2009), in an acting capacity she has been credited for roles in The Bill, EastEnders, Doctors and Casualty.
She has written several plays including Another Paradise, The Contract, A Home on the Horizon, Shared Memories Project, Endless Light, Twelve and My Big Fat Cowpat Wedding.
