Actor Sean Wilton has played two minor roles on Coronation Street: firstly as an unnamed Doctor who was due to perform Ashley Peacock's vasectomy in July 2009; returning to the programme in December 2010 as DS Miller - who questioned Nick Tilsley when a gas explosion destroyed his newly-opened bar, The Joinery.

Appearances in school productions led to the Maidenhead Youth Theatre, and from there attended the Guildford School of Acting between 1984 and 1987, gaining his acting diploma.

His only other screen credits are for films - Joan, Gypo, Ruby Blue, The Calling and Black Coat Mob, although on stage he appeared in the musical version of The Country Wife at the Theatre Royal in London's West End. As well as appearances on television commercials, Wilton worked as a drama coach at "So You Wanna Be!" - a performing arts school in Redhill, Surrey.
