Simeon Andrews is a former actor who appeared in Coronation Street in August 1995 as Father Donnelly, the priest from a religious retreat who broke the news of the death of Ivy Brennan.
Andrews trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and is a former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. On television he also appeared in series such as The Bill, Inspector Morse and Brass.
A political activist on the left-wing, he is now the secretary of the Labour Representation Committee, a group campaigning for a return to more socialist values in the Labour movement and a parliamentary consultant to a number of trade unions and the press officer and organiser of the Socialist Campaign Group of Labour MPs.
