Simon McLinden appeared in two minor roles on Coronation Street: firstly in November 2009 as DC Coogan who informed colleague DS Smith that Tony Gordon had handed himself in at the police station; and returned to the programme in April 2010 as a Consultant who examined Molly Dobbs after she had spent a night in Weatherfield General following her car crash.
After completing training at both the Rose Bruford College and the Central School of Speech and Drama, he obtained a teaching certificate enabling him to work as a supply teacher in his "resting time".
His other roles include parts in The Marchioness Disaster, Emmerdale, Firewood and The Bill. For several years he was a member of the Queen's Theatre repertory company in Hornchurch and teaches at the Arts Education School in London. On film, he appeared in The Exorcist prequel.
