Sorcha Cusack (born 9th April 1949 in Dublin) appeared on Coronation Street in 2008 as Helen Connor, matriarch of the Connor family, however the role was recast in 2009 when the character reappeared and the part was taken over by Dearbhla Molloy. She is part of a famous acting family being the daughter of Cyril Cusack, the sister of Sinead and Niamh Cusack and the half sister of Catherine Cusack who also appeared in the Street as Carmel Finnan.

With an acting career dating back to the early 1970s, her other TV and film credits include roles in Jane Eyre, Within These Walls, A Hitch in Time, Angel, Boon, Inspector Morse, Agatha Christie:Poirot, Maigret, Casualty, Eureka Street, Playing the Field, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Judge John Deed, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Royal, Silent Witness, Mrs Brown's Boys, Lewis, Love Life, Merlin and Father Brown.

On stage she has appeared in productions of Dancing at Lughnasa, The Playboy of the Western World, The Three Sisters, The Duchess of Malfi and Carthaginians.
