Actress Sue McCormick appeared on Coronation Street as an unnamed hospital Clerk in August 1999, following the admittance of Jack Duckworth.

After twenty-five years as a performer with screen credits including roles in Emmerdale, Casualty, Where the Heart Is, The Parole Officer, Holby City and Hollyoaks Later, she found herself juggling careers as a writer and director. In 2011 she played Sadie in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at The Dukes Lancaster, directed Twelfth Night for Cottongrass Theatre at Thornbridge Hall and was commissioned by Mikron Theatre to write a play - Hell and High Water - for their 40th Anniversary National Tour. Her monologue Isabella - Measure for Measure Act 6 was performed at The Dukes as part of the Season of Shakespeare and she played the lead in her new comedy with songs, No Fat Juliets at The Dukes, as well as on tour.

As an Associate Director for Demi-Paradise Productions, Sue co-directed Richard III and Hamlet, played the Queen in Richard II and devised, directed and performed in Blood Red Roses and several Deck the Halls. In 2010 she directed the tenth anniversary production of The Merchant of Venice, and in 2012 directed Much Ado about Nothing.
