Teddy Turner was born 13th June, 1917 in Yorkshire and died on 29th August, 1992 in Horsforth. He was an English actor who played Chalkie Whitely in Coronation Street from February 1982 to August 1983, and previously appeared as a Caretaker in October 1975. Subsequent to this, he went on to appear as Banks in the popular ITV sitcom, Never The Twain. He is best known for his role as Bill Whiteley in Emmerdale.
