Tony Turner appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- PC Robbins in April 1993
- Lorry driver Dave Hume in August and September 1994
- Security officer Paddy Thompson between January and February 1998.
Having worked in theatre and film in Sydney and London, he taught voice and acting at the University of New England and the University of Southern Queensland. He was the London branch manager of Walt Disney Productions and head of Voice and Speech training at Mountview Theatre School in London. He is the author of "Sounds Like: Voice for Teachers" and "The Dialect Magician".
His other on-screen credits include roles in Z Cars, The Bill, Boon, The Lakes, Heartbeat, Foyle's War, New Tricks, Holby City, Doctors, Downton Abbey, WPC 56 and Call the Midwife. On stage he has appeared in productions of Big White Fog, Playing with Fire, A Family Affair, Loot, The Jail Diary of Albie Sachs, Her Naked Skin, Broken Glass, Neville's Island, Journey's End, Measure for Measure, This House and The School for Scheming.
