The Wages Clerk worked in Baldwin's Casuals having been promoted to that position from the packing department. When she made an error and all the delighted staff were given £4 extra in their pay packets, a furious Mike Baldwin tore a strip off her and demoted her back to her old department.
Machinist Ida Clough couldn't understand why Mike had put her in the office in the first place, telling her colleagues that the girl was that thick at school, she thought all the kings of England were named after pubs!
