The unnamed Waiter worked worked at a bar/restaurant close to the A580 road between Lancashire and Liverpool. A large, balding man, the waiter was sometimes discourteous towards patrons, such as a group from Coronation Street, Weatherfield who visited the pub on 26th August 1963. When he told pensioner Albert Tatlock to hurry up and finish his drink, Albert stood up to him, and called on his friends nearby for support. The impertinent waiter told the group to leave.
