The unnamed Woman was a client of escort Lewis Archer who he wined and dined at a hotel restaurant. Difficult and bad-tempered, she told him how she had taken revenge on her ex-husband, how her children disliked her and complained vociferously to the waitress about lipstick on her glass. Lewis's mind wasn't on his "job" as he was distracted with his feelings for Audrey Roberts and when his customer invited him up to her hotel room he beat a hasty retreat.
