Zienia Merton (11th December 1945 in Burma) appeared on Coronation Street between August and September 2008 as a Doctor who tended to Jerry Morton when he was hospitalised due to being deliberately being given higher doses of medication by ex-wife Teresa Bryant.

Zienia lived in Singapore, Borneo and was schooled in Portugal. Her childhood wish was to become a dancer, and upon securing her father's agreement she was registered at the dancing and acting school led by the "Arts Education Trust" in Tring, Hertfordshire.

With an acting CV spanning five decades, her other credits include roles in Doctor Who, The Troubleshooters, ITV Playhouse, Beryl's Lot, Space: 1999, Return of the Saint, Bergerac, Angels, Tenko, Dempsey and Makepeace, Grange Hill, Lovejoy, Peak Practice, Casualty, EastEnders, The Bill, Judge John Deed, Wire in the Blood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctors and Wizards Vs. Aliens.
